To activate your SIM card simply make your first call and the SIM card is activated.
How do I secure my MTN number?
To prevent your number getting lost for life, it is always advisable to register your account anytime you purchase a SIM card. Just walk to any of our Customer Care Centers and tell them you want your number registered. In that case anytime your number or phone gets missing, you just walk in and retrieve your line.
Family & FriendsWhat is Family & Friends?
Family & Friends allows you to make calls at discounted rates for your two favourite MTN numbers. You pay 50% off the call charges to your F&F numbers.
If you subscribe to MTN, then you can add two of your favourite numbers every month and call them for half the price.
MTN CallerTunez I called my friend and I heard this really cool music whiles waiting for her to pick up?
Your friend has activated MTN CallerTunez. Just dial 1355 and follow voice prompt or text sub to 1355 to activate. After activation, go to option 2 and enter the phone number of your friend and you can copy all the songs in your friends CallerTunez library.
Is it true that I can send a song from MTN CallerTunez as a gift to my friends?
Yes you can send songs from MTN CallerTunez as gifts to your friends.
To send by IVR please dial 1355 and choose option 4
To send by SMS please send “gift+songcode” to 1355.
Please note that your friend should have subscribed to MTN CallerTunez to be able to send a song as gift to him/her.
Can I assign different CallerTunez to different people in my contact list?
Yes this service allows you to assign selected music to specific people or groups (family, colleagues, and buddies from school) or as a default for all callers. After downloading from your download option;
- Go to option 4 in the main menu and choose option 2
- Once in that menu, choose 1 to Manage your CallerTunez, you will have the option to set each tune as follows:
- All day long
- Specific period
- Special period(Temporary period)
MTN Voice SMSDo I need to change my phone to be able send MTN Voice SMS?
MTNVoice SMS works on every type of cell phone.
Do I pay for sending MTN Voice SMS?
Yes the rate will depend on which call plan you are on. But you don’t pay for retrieving Voice SMS.
How many messages can I store in my Voice SMS inbox?
The maximum number of messages you can save in your in box will depend on the Call plan that you are on.
MTN Me2U Service How many times can I give credit to my loved one?
You can give out credit to your loved one up to 10 times in a day from a minimum of 60GP.
Can my friend who has MTN Pay monthly give me some of his airtime?
MTN Me2U is only for Pay as you go subscribers.
Lost or Stolen Who do I contact if my phone is lost /stolen?
When your phone gets missing or stolen simply call our toll free line 111 with any MTN number to report the loss of your chip. You will be required to answer some questions to ascertain ownership and the line will be disconnected or suspended for you.
How will I get my number back?
Buy an MTN SIM Swap kit /Regular Starter Pack for only GH¢1 from any MTN retail outlet. Call our Toll Free number (111) to answer some questions to ascertain ownership and the line will be restored.
Will I be charged for calls made on my phone if it’s lost or stolen?
You will be charged for any calls made on your phone up until you have reported the phone lost.
Phone advice I’ve blocked my phone what do I do?
You may have either blocked your handset or SIM card. If it’s the handset that is blocked then you will have to send it to a phone repairer to get it fixed. If it’s the SIM card that is blocked, it will be required of you to enter a PUK code. The PUK code can be found in your User guide or through the MTN Self Service. If your number is also registered as well you could call our toll free line 111 to receive the code.
SMSWhy can’t I send or receive text messages?
You may have lost your message centre number .Please go to your phone Menu, go to Messages, go to Message Settings and choose Message centre number. MTN message center number is +233244500000. (Procedure to save centre number will not be the same for all handsets. Please read your phone manual or Call our toll free line 111 or visit any of our Customer Service points nationwide for assistance)
Recharging your credit What do I do if I over scratch my recharge card?
If you over scratch your recharge card don’t throw it away. Just call our 24hr toll free line 111 and you will be required to give information about the damaged card or walk into any of our customer service offices with the damaged card and your number will be recharged for you.
Can I use my phone abroad?
Yes, You would need to activate Roaming on your number.
