Over the years, Ghana has witnessed the proliferation of music reality shows whose main aim is to identify and nurture young talents to become seasoned musicians. MTN has identified the need for up and coming musicians to be supported and this calls for the creation of a music program that will help groom young and talented music artistes who have composed their own music but require support to succeed.  

The MTN Hit Maker show seeks to help budding music artistes who can compose and create their own music and nurture them into stardom. To be part of the show, prospective artistes will be required to drop their demos at MTN offices across the country or upload their songs on to MTNPlay. The best 60 contestants from across the country will be chosen by a panel of musicians and will then be invited to Accra to do live performances of their music.

Each contestant will perform live on stage to an audience and this will be telecast on Television. Their performance will be judged by a selected panel of judges and the general public. In addition, the songs of the contestant will also be played on radio to ensure maximum airtime coverage.

After the initial eviction shows, the final 10 contestants will be housed for another level of the competition to begin after which the overall winner will be selected. The winner of the “MTN HIT Maker show" would be supported with a recording contract amounting to GH¢100,000 to produce an album.
