In an exciting contest during last week’s Hit Maker show, two other contestants Rita Aku Goka and Anita Malechi were evicted from the ongoing music reality show, MTN Hitmaker.
The two contestants unfortunately received the least votes and lost out on the chance to win the grand prize of GH₵100,000. Even in the face of eviction, the former housemates believe they can still make it to the top of their musical careers.
In her first interview since the eviction, Aku said “Ghanaians should watch out for me because my ambition is to send Ghanaian music to the international level".
In an interview with Anita, she said: “I am glad I have been able to come out of my shell, to conquer all my fears and show that I am capable of doing something worthwhile in life. Thank God for bringing me this far and I know God will still put bigger smiles on my face in the coming years.”
The evicted duo also stated that they will miss their colleagues as they have built some good friendship in the house and have learnt so much from their colleagues.
However, one of the most consistent performers so far, Naterial has been singled out for praise by Ofie Kudjoe, one of the three competition judges. She commented that even though everybody did a great job Naterial was the most outstanding. “He always delivers great performances and I think he is the next big star. He is an all-round performer. He dances, sings, raps, I mean he does all and I think he is bringing the best forward.”
Ofie also added “the competition is getting intense but at the same time there is still camaraderie in the house and they support each other which is a great thing. I think that they have really taken it to the next level and viewers should expect more things to come.”
Farmhouse Production, producers of the show have stated that the contestants could start reaping the benefits of the show as they are explore ways of partnering the title sponsor, MTN, to get some of the best songs as caller-ring-back-tunes (CRBT).
The overall winner takes home a GH¢100,000 recording deal while the runner up takes home a GH¢50,000 recording deal, kind courtesy of MTN Ghana Foundation.
This Sunday, the audience will be witnessing the last eviction show to select the final four contestants. Watch out for the finale slated for the 5th of October 2012 at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).
The public can vote for their favorite contestants by texting their name to MTN short code 1327. The highest texter has the chance of winning fantastic prizes from MTN.
The Hit Maker show airs on Sundays at 8:00 pm on TV3 and Hitz TV and on Saturdays at 8:00 pm on ETV.
