MTN Ghana, the leading provider in telecommunications services have announced a number of innovative initiatives which will help develop the SME sector.
MTN now offers an integrated offering of online shopping malls, payment systems and product offerings. The first of such platforms involves www.ghanabuys.com, which for many years have been providing online product catalogues for consumers who demand the convenience of e-commerce.
Through the MTN partnership consumers can now place orders via www.ghanabuys.com and pay with MTN Mobile Money. Ghanabuys also allows customers to choose delivery services if desired. These initiatives will further consolidate MTN’s position as the provider of multiple and reliable payment platforms.
The platform is designed along the generic principle of online malls, and therefore presents SMEs with a unique advantage by allowing them to get their product listed. Through the contact details provided on the platform, there is an easy process for making contact with the site administrators, who facilitate product listings for traders, who wish to extend their market reach through this innovative channels.
MTN has also announced other partnerships with www.ghanamart.com and www.sellphoneghana.com. These portals for consumer goods and cell phone devices respectively have now been integrated with the Mobile Money payment platforms for convenience.
The suite of differentiated offers from MTN also comes with a new service, in partnership with MTECH (Gh) Ltd. Stakeholders in the agricultural sector, can now access customized information on product and input prices via the MTN short code: 1344. Weather and other related information is also available to subscribers on the same platform.
Commenting on the new additions, the Commercial Senior Manager for MTN Mobile Money, Mr. Eli Hini said, “MTN will continue to enrich the lives of its valued subscribers with services that will make their mobile phone a one-stop-shop for all forms of transactions from payments of bills to shopping for all kinds of goods and services”.
